Mr. Alberto recently helped the client of local grocery to install transport refrigeration unit for refer van. As average ambient temperature of above 30℃, they need to store and transport raw food materials in chilled status to keep freshness after procure from local agricultural products distribution center.

The client’s reefer van is Dodge RAM ProMaster Rapid. Though it’s quite new in the local market since its first introduction in 2016, it has entered into the fastest growing segments of automotive industry for its functionality, reliability, and competitive abilities. Reefer van definitely is designed to fit and squeeze itself into the urban and suburban areas with complicated transportation status. So ProMaster Rapid is a reefer van solution for the delivery and distribution of goods in urban scenario. No matter narrow streets, limited parking space, or extremely heavy traffic conditions, it could meet the challenges mentioned above. For the convenience of load and unload cargo, the design of the doors has great versatility in its opening so it can be easily adapted in small space. The rear doors have ergonomic handles and the ability to open up to 180°.

For the reason that most cargo loaded in the compartment is vegetables, the required temperature would not be very low. When potentially hazardous foods such as vegetables are transported they usually should be kept cold (the temperature is 5℃ or below). As the journey distance is not very long, insulated container is required for keeping the food cold. The client has added 2″ thick poly insulation panel to the compartment, so the rest job for Mr. Alberto is recommend and install an appropriate transport refrigeration unit for the client. Of course every client would like to cut down the budget to his business. On condition the cooling solution would gradually recover purchase cost, it obviously would be the client’s preference, and so electric van refrigeration unit C150TB would be such an alternative for engine driven chiller unit. The cooling space of 3.1m³ would be easily coped with by C150TB. Output current of the reefer van is 12V, 180Amp and original battery is 900CCA, so no idle feature of C150TB during load and unload procedure has been guaranteed. The onsite test result is C150TB could cool down to -4℃ under ambient temperature about 31℃. For most vegetables require around 0℃ transport temperature, they could be safely and freshly offered to customers in grocery.
