It is quite surprised to know that our partner in Mesoamerica just finished a big job in recent days. Around 20 newly-procured Kenworth truck of local fleet company, which made its decision to come to our partner for cooling solution, has been mounted with electric truck air conditioner K20BS2 in hustle and bustle before the great vacation of Christmas. No wonder that Mr. Sebastián kept low profile these days and nearly disappeared in Whatsapp messenger, we appreciate his dedication on one hand and really pleased to accept this time installation case as a Christmas gift.

Another surprise we found in the case is these newly-procured Kenworth trucks, the model of which is T660. It is an honorable, nearly-retired, and classic type in Kenworth truck series. After about 10 years’ production and usage, Kenworth in August, 2016 announced that they would prepare to have the veteran retired while offered their customers last chance to make final purchase from production allotment of 500 T660s. If the batch has nearly been sold out, each photo of T660 truck would be treasure to collect. It is really a glory to add our sleeper truck air conditioner K20BS2 for these T660 as sole cooling solution and let the drivers enjoy every moment staying with their beloved truck. Beautiful streamlined and fashioned appearance and style, excellent aerodynamic design, and practical forward-lighting technology has made T660 as predecessor and foundation for its descendent models and relative designs. Our partner’s installation craftsmanship deserves applause as well especially for these classic trucks. Each feet external wiring ways, even coverings of hoses and wirings into the cab has nearly been positioned on the same place. For their 72-inch AeroCab® sleeper cab, reliable 8,500BTU cooling capacity and 650m³/h air volume would cool the whole space down to around 20℃ in nearly twenty minutes. We witnessed the performance with the customers of their different types and brands of trucks. They may come at the first time for installation and documents like manual, and the second time visit would never for check and troubleshoot but chat and coffee like an old friend.

The first and foremost factors for minimum maintenance record of K20BS2 would always be full consideration of original truck electric system specifications. First is alternator. It must be powerful enough to start the engine meanwhile activate K20BS2 to normally operation. Though 12V, 160Amp alternator is common level comparing with some new off highway trucks in our cases, it is competent to activate truck ac unit. And then is battery pack. Maybe now APU (auxiliary power unit), like Carrier apu ComfortPro or Thermo King apu unit TriPac Envidia, would be better option to keep electric appliances inside cab running. But keep original battery pack sound or have them retrofit for performance increase is still cost-effective and much easier. Totally 4 pieces of CCA 1,360Amp has been equipped with the trucks, the total electricity stored has been enough for whole night sleep with cool air in sleeper.
