In our previous news update we have mentioned that a meeting has been conduct by us as an opportunity learning and experience exchange between our partners in Mesoamerica and North America. After a thorough knowledge of some more cutting-edge and eco-friendly transport cooling solution, our partner in Mesoamerica has started to introduce new auxiliary gadgets compatible with our electric transport cooling solution, including electric transport refrigeration unit and air conditioner for truck/bus/van, into his local market. Though first purchase cost of whole cooling solution may be increased with new technology added, some clients are eager to try with them since later savings and less parts wearing will help them to retrieve the cost and enable them to benefit more. Then we got this electric truck air conditioner installation case in today’s update.

Dozens of local fleet company newly-procured Kenworth T680 have just been put into use for several days, they are still quite new and charming in outline when being photographed. Our partner decides to introduce his new auxiliary gadgets to the client since they have had cooperation on mounting electric truck sleeper air conditioner K20BS2 before and definitely the client has knowledge of our cooling equipment. Solar panel, as a new and recommended product, has been shown to the client. What the panel would do is absorbing solar power to extend battery service lift, decrease waste, and lead to lower fuel consumption and relative emissions. If the panel needs to be used to support large battery volume both for electric reefer unit and cab cooler, usually more panel will be installed on the roof of refrigerated container since much capacious contact area under sunlight. Or the panel will be fixed on roof air deflector on condition only as the support for in-cab electric appliances. With construction of flexible polymer, the panel is enabled to be bent to fit the slant angle of cab roof and air deflector as well as resist with environmental disturbances.

Kenworth T680 series truck has been mentioned in our previous news update. As a favorite model among Kenworth truck, it has been designed and integrated with many benefits interiorly and exteriorly. External whole aerodynamic design, incorporated fornt air dams, longer side extenders, chassis fairing extenders, rear chassis fairing design and exhaust cut-out covers, is able to decrease air and wind resistance to another lower level. With 76 inch high-roof sleeper, T680 has offered a luxury mobile home for the driver to enjoy driving lift on road. The sleeper is much capacious, modern and elegant with configurable and personalize interior. With such sufficient space inside the sleeper, many more electric appliances are enabled to be positioned properly. TV wall is able to accommodate up to 23 inches flat screen monitors. Mid-level mounted, large capacity, and drawer-style refrigerator is easily accessible. Microwave is also easily placed on upper storage unit with tie-down added. So if K20BS2 has been added into the electric system, you may start to worry about 8,500BTU cooling capacity cooling unit may become last straw bringing electricity insufficiency disaster for the truck. Because enough electricity shall be reserved in the battery pack to ensure the truck could be started normally. But now we have double insurance to such problem. First is low voltage protection mechanism inside K20BS2. Once low voltage have been suffered by vehicle electric system, the problem would be detected by the protection mechanism. The air conditioner would be shut off automatically to keep enough power for starter. Only if you find yourself a service area or charging pile to charge the battery, K20BS2 would be started again to cool the cab. Second, we now have solar panel as second insurance. When you park the truck for short break or even driving on way, the solar power would be persistently fetched by the panel and then converted into electricity into your battery pack. So the original vehicle electric parts, as key indicators to check compatibility with K20BS2, now could be continuously fed and charged to keep normal condition. These parts may include 160Amp alternator and 4 pieces of PACCAR dual purpose batteries.

Now the first truck has been mounted with K20BS2 and solar panel on the roof. On condition all work well on charging ability and cooling performance, rest of the trucks would be added with K20BS2 and the panel. We are glad that we and our partner take another big step on supporting anti-idling transport cooling solution.
